Event Details

WHAT: On the eve of the first presidential debate, our panel examines whether the press is creating such an aura around Obama and Palin that hard issues are getting lost in the debate. Will voters decide a critical presidential election on perceived likeability rather than what they plan to do for the country? Is the cult of personality a creation of carefully orchestrated campaigns -- or of a lazy press?

WHO: Ted Johnson, Managing Editor of Variety and in charge of WilshireandWashington.com, the blog that investigates and report about the connections between politics, celebrities and the entertainment industry.

Bill Welch of USA TODAY.
